Introduction

Miso Bliss Balls

Miso is a traditional and common Japanese condiment: a thick paste made from soybeans fermented with salt and a koji starter. Like most fermented things, it’s a good probiotic, helping the body maintain healthy bacteria levels, and nutritious, containing many healthy vitamins and minerals like vitamin K, manganese, zinc, protein and calcium. These nutrients support the bones and nervous system and improves digestion. Miso adds an extra oomph to your regular protein or bliss ball and is a superfood!

There are several varieties of miso but for my recipes, I like to use white miso as it is sweeter compared to yellow or red miso

Ingredients

  • Almond flour, blanched, 1/3 cup
  • Unsalted mixed nuts, 1/2 cup
  • White miso, 1 & 1/2 tbsp.
  • Dates, 8~9
  • Coconut flakes, 1/4 cup
  • Cinnamon, 1/2 tsp.

In a food processor, blend the protein ball ingredients. It’ll look like cookie dough and you should easy be able to knead it.
Knead into little bite-sized balls. Makes around 12~13.
Ready immediately or chill in fridge till you’re ready to eat them!
